5 Senses

5 Senses

When your client comes in for their Lash service, they are incapable of fully controlling their five senses after they close their eyes into relax mode. What does this mean? You can set the vibe, create a memorable service, and build trust.

See- Your client will not be able to see during the service. You must guide them through what to expect and the service process. This will help ground them, especially if this is their first service.

Smell- Be aware of the scent in your room… light a candle or maybe have a diffuser to create a pleasant aroma. You don’t want to have lunch breath/coffee breath while working on your client. Have a mask or gum in hand for any oral hygiene emergencies.

Touch- Some clients get antsy during the service. This is understandable since some people have difficulty laying still and being awake while having their eyes closed for an extended time. Have a fidget toy in hand. This may help your client remain calm and entertained during the service. Blankets are also neat if you prefer a cold workspace because although you're working and moving around using energy, your client is still and might be more sensitive to the temperature.

Taste- Pro-Tip: have mints available for your clients. This helps steer away from gum chewing, meaning their face will remain more steady during the service. Gum chewing may cause the gel pad to move around, making it inconvenient for the artist when trying to do their job. On another note, it's recommended to have drinks available for your clients, even if it's just water.

Hear- Play relaxing music or a podcast to make the service more pleasant. Be aware of the music you’re playing during the appointment and the mood you want to create. If you enjoy chatting and having a lively environment, turn up the volume and play some upbeat music. You can play some spa or Lo-Fi music if you'd like to create a relaxing environment. Regardless of the vibe, steer away from inappropriate/offensive music.
